Title: The ways that being raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may influence LGBTQ+ individuals' identity development and their flourishing

Description: LGBTQ+ people raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) must navigate identity development and flourishing as an LGBTQ+ person in light of the conservative tenets of their natal faith tradition. In this presentation, I share framework for helping understand the various ways that being raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may influence LGBTQ+ individuals' identity development and flourishing. I then share contemporary research on LGBTQ+ current and former Latter-day Saints, focusing on therapeutic approaches that may be most helpful for these individuals in facilitating their identity development and flourishing.
