Title: Conversion Therapy: A Survivor’s Story

Presenter: Michael Ferguson, PhD, Instructor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School, a Lecturer at Harvard Divinity School, and a neuroscientist at the Center for Brain Circuit Therapeutics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. 

Description: Dr. Ferguson will share with us the work he does with CT Survivors, an organization dedicated to the needs of conversion therapy (CT) and sexual orientation and gender identity and expression change efforts (SOGIECE) survivors.

Learning Objectives
1. Gain familiarity with the personality science components of self-transcendence and their relationship to conversion therapy psychology.
2. Understand the current evidential basis for the brain circuit relationships between spirituality and attachment.
3. Identify psychological and neural relationships between self-compassion and complementary care for conversion therapy recovery and survivorship.

CEU’s have been applied for, for all in‐service programs by Utah NASW and for all programs including Plan‐B Theatre Events. CEU's have been applied for from the Utah Psychological Association for our in-service programs. CEU’s are free for Guild members & $5 for non‐members, per meeting. If you do not want a CEU certificate, attendance is free to the public but still require that you register.
