Compassion Fatigue
Research has shown that we're more likely to experience compassion fatigue if we're helping clients deal with events that are similar to our own experiences, such as LGBTQ counselors helping clients with coming out, dealing with discrimination, etc.

Particular areas of focus include understanding the construct of compassion fatigue; prevention strategies at personal, professional and organizational levels; recognizing warning signs, and recovering from compassion fatigue to regain a healthy life balance and renewed energy and enjoyment in professional endeavors.
Presenter: Shaney McCoy,CMHC.
