Title: Two Years of Covid Living, Caring, Suffering, Coping, and Thriving

Presenter: Emily Haynes-Thomas, LMFT

Description: It’s been two years since we started working in conditions dictated by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Each of the past two years in the month of March we've informally gathered to discuss the changes we were witnessing, and supported each other during that time of sudden change and stress.  This year we will share support for each other again, share resources, reflect on what we have learned and how we have grown.  Attendees will be able to incorporate and adopt from our common experiences in order to work more effectively with clients.  This is a period in history that has no guiding empirical evidence and best practices, so we will share real-time learning experiences.

Learning Objectives:

  • Access a supportive community during a time of isolation and physical distancing.
  • Acquire strategies for coping through unprecedented events.
  • Explore the transference and countertransference occurring in these unique circumstances, and how it may have influenced theoretical approaches.
