Multicultural Counseling Competence


Note: 2nd Fri.   5 – 7 p.m. This program will meet at The Den – University of Utah Student Union

The emphasis on multicultural counseling competence for over four decades warrants a close examination of the relationship of multicultural counseling competence to cross-cultural interactions, clinical processes, and treatment outcomes. This presentation will briefly summarize a current understanding of multicultural counseling competence based on existing literature, introduce emerging directions for multicultural counseling competence research and discuss implications for practice and training of mental health providers.
